Masters Degree Psychology

I have finally finished my write up on the Yoga Research Study to complete my thesis. It has been marked and adjudicated so I am able to share the results, I can also share my full thesis upon request, just send me a message! The thesis also completes my studies at Northumbria University and my masters degree in Psychology. The full title of my thesis is:

Evaluating the Efficacy of Ashtanga Yoga and Breathwork in Alleviating Stress, Depression, and Anxiety in Novice Practitioners

I have analysed the data from before and after each yoga class for a period of six weeks. There is a reduction in the mean scores for stress, depression and anxiety overall. There is a significant reduction in stress after the six weeks compared to the beginning. There is a significant reduction in state anxiety at the end of each class compared to the start of each. There is a significant reduction in depression between the group that attended every class for six weeks compared to the group that missed one or more classes. I also found that breathwork guidance had no significant effect on stress, anxiety and depression as measured by the study.

Thank you to all the participants in the study that contributed towards my thesis and masters degree. The data was invaluable. If anyone would like to know more detail or give the full thesis a read over please get in touch.

Namaste,

Paddy
